Bartlomiej Idzikowski graduated from the Poznan University of Technology in 2003 (Computing Science - Computer Networks and Distributed Systems) and has become PSNC employee (Network Department). His research interests focus on videoconferencing (eduCONF, VC Service in Pionier network), high resolution video systems (4K, 8K), web based applications, streaming technologies, network management and traffic monitoring. Bob Friday is vice president and chief technology officer at Juniper‘s AI-Driven Enterprise business unit that develops self-learning wireless networks using artificial intelligence. He was co-founder, vice president, and chief technology officer at Mist, which is part of Juniper Networks and develops self-learning wireless networks using artificial intelligence. He started his career in wireless at Metricom (Ricochet wireless network) developing and deploying wireless mesh networks across the country to connect the first generation of Internet browsers. Following Metricom, Bob co-founded Airespace, a start-up focused on helping enterprises manage the flood of employees bringing unlicensed WiFi technology into their businesses. Following Cisco’s acquisition of Airespace in 2005, Bob became the VP/CTO of Cisco enterprise mobility and drove mobility strategy and investments in the wireless business (e.g., Navini, Cognio, ThinkSmart, Phunware, Wilocity, Meraki). He also drove industry standards such as Hot Spot 2.0 and market efforts such as Cisco’s Connected Mobile Experience. He holds more than 15 patents.

Dev Null is currently spearheading the Danish national Quantum Communication Infrastructure project QCI.dk where they are responsible for implementing a network between 3 universities and the 4 Danish ministries of: Defence, Foreign affairs, Commerce and Research. Getting this quantum secured network deployed and ready by summer 2025, as Denmark takes the presidency of the EU Council. Being co-chair of the EuroQCI thematic working group on architecture, Dev Null is in close contact with QCI projects around EU and collaborates with several standardisation organisations, contributing to the future of quantum-secured communication. They have a background in cybersecurity at a large Nordic bank, having had a seat at NFCERT, as well as experience in network administration and being the president of a small ISP. This together with a degree in civil engineering specialisation in railway infrastructure design and project management, gives Dev a diverse toolset that uniquely positions them to transition Quantum Key Distribution from academic research to practical, large-scale network applications across Europe. Fun fact: In 2020, embracing the Internet culture of defining our own names online, they started the process to get “Dev Null” approved as a legal name in Denmark. Succeeding after a court case against the Danish State.

Emil Henry Flakk has been with Norwegian NREN and later Sikt since 2016. Initially a developer by trade, he has since done most of his work within incident response and Sikt's Cyber Security Center for Research and Education (eduCSC). Guilty pleasures include making cyber intelligence useful, as well as exploring new tooling and services for security. He obtained a masters degree in Communication Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2018, applying novel graph theory and machine learning to make SIEMs less noisy.

Gordana Jugo is the head of the Educational Technology Service at CARNET. Her work focuses on supporting educators in applying digital technologies in learning and teaching. Although she cannot imagine life without digital technology, she believes it should serve humanity. She is a lifelong learner who supports innovative approaches to student-centered learning and teaching, open educational resources, and open-source systems. She participated in CARNET's e-Schools project, working on the development of a system for the digital maturity of schools, and the development of digital competencies for principals. She is also involved in CARNET's e-University project in the areas of digital teaching tools and strengthening the digital competencies of teachers. In her work, she continuously introduces innovations. In 2014, she launched a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for the professional development of educators — Moodle MOOC, as one of the first courses of its kind in Croatia. She initiated the idea and led the AMORES project, the first European project coordinated by CARNET, aimed at improving literature teaching and learning across Europe through an innovative methodology based on interactivity and collaboration. She holds a Master of Educational Technology degree from the University of British Columbia in Canada

Guy Roberts joined GÉANT in 2006 and is a Senior Network Architect. He is responsible for the introduction of new transmission technology into the GÉANT network and is currently working on the design and deployment of the new GÉANT optical network. He is technical lead for the GN4-3 WP7-T2 Spectrum Connection Service task and is leading work on field trials of quantum key distribution technology as well as the development of time/frequency distribution solutions for GÉANT. As co-chair of the NSI working group in the Open Grid Forum he is joint author of several GFDs. Guy received his PhD in photonics from the University of Cambridge in 2006 in the area of DWDM subsystem design based on integrated photonic components.

Kristín Jónsdóttir is a geophysicist. She took her undergraduates at the University of Iceland and PhD from Uppsala University in volcano seismology. She was a postdoc in Ireland, at University College Dublin and since 2013 she has been working at the Icelandic Met Office which is responsible for monitoring natural hazards in Iceland. Her focus is on research and monitoring earthquakes and volcanoes. Currently she is the head of the Earth Science department at the Icelandic Met Office.

Lars Gjesvik is a senior researcher in the Research Group for Security and Defence at NUPI, where he also serves as the co-leader of the research center for digitization and cyber security. His research focuses on the intersection of private enterprise and state interests, security challenges, and power politics related to digitalization and emerging technologies. He recently obtained his doctorate from the University of Oslo (in 2023), where he studied the interaction between private companies and state interests in the digital space, and the role of technology companies in shaping international politics. Léonie Schäfer is Senior Manager Global Liaison at the German National Research and Education Network (DFN). At DFN, she is responsible for coordinating DFN's contribution to international projects and joint developments. At GÉANT, Leonie represents DFN as a delegate and takes on various tasks in the area of programme planning, EU liaison, international relations and stakeholder management within GÉANT projects. Prior to joining DFN, Léonie worked for several years in science, where she conducted her own research and was responsible for the management of EU research projects. Later, she worked as a Scientific Officer at the EU Commission, DG INFSO, dealing with innovation policies, new research trends and emerging research communities in ICT-related technologies. Martin Bech has an MSc in Electrical Engineering and has been with the Danish Research Network (formerly UNI•C, now DeiC) since 1986, where he has been a driving force in many pioneering projects: large-scale student computing facilities, firewalls and security, parts of the first commercial Internet service in Denmark, nation-wide services for schools in Denmark, the Danish Healthcare Network and many other projects. Today, he is Head of NREN as well of responsible for the commercial IT services related to the DIX (Danish Internet Exchange). Rajkumar Kettimuthu received the B.E. degree from Anna University, Chennai, India, and an M.S. and Ph. D. from the Ohio State University, all in Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently a Computer Scientist in the Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory, and a Senior Fellow in the Computation Institute at The University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory. He is the technology coordinator for Globus GridFTP, a heavily used production quality data mover. He serves as a principal investigator for several projects funded by National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Energy. His research is focused on high-speed transfer of large-scale data, software defined networking, and resource management. He has co-authored more than 80 articles in the above-mentioned areas including in premier computer science conferences and journals. He is a recipient of R&D 100 award. Valter graduated in 2000 with a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he also worked in various IT-related roles until 2006. Currently Valter shares his time between being a task leader in the GN3plus project task ‘federation as a service’ - a pilot to investigate how to lower the barriers for creating and running identity federations - acting as deputy activity leader for the GN3plus AAI activity, and being a CTO in the Swedish national research and education network SUNET. In SUNET Valter has been leading the Swedish identity federation, SWAMID, since its formation in 2007. Valter took on the job as CEO for NORDUnet in 2021 In his spare time Valter enjoys training in various forms, such as running, swimming and bicycling.

Biography
Veronika Di Luna is a Senior Project Manager at GÉANT where for the past 10 years she has led a range of EU-funded projects. Her work covered developing new initiatives to support the growth and strategic development of partner research and education organisations in Africa, Central Asia, and the Eastern Partnership region, as well as establishing long-term intercontinental connectivity between GÉANT and its international partners. Veronika also co-ordinates GÉANT's contributions within the European Open Science Cloud and EuroHPC. Veronika is passionate about diversity and equality and managed the first GÉANT Emerging NREN Programme held at TNC, helping emerging NRENs integrate into the global research and education networking community. At present, Veronika chairs GÉANT’s Gender Equality Committee. Veronika holds an MA in Globalisation, Ethnicity and Culture from the University of Sussex, UK.

Biography
Vidar Faltinsen obtained his masters degree in Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 1993. He has since then worked in the field of networking with primary focus on campus networks, first as an engineer, later as a manager. He has eight years of experience from NTNU. From 2004 to 2021 he has been with the Norwegian NREN Uninett. Uninett merged into Sikt in 2022 and Faltinsen currently works there as a product manager for campus network services.

Biography
I completed my PhD in volcanology at the University of Iceland in 2017. I am currently a postdoc at the University of Iceland continuing to work on Eldgjá and the recent eruptions on Reykjanes. In November I will begin a new position at the Icelandic Meteorological Office as a GIS specialist with a focus on hazard and risk analysis.

Biography
Åshild Berg-Tesdal holds a master’s degree in media studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She is a communicator with extensive experience in the Norwegian university sector. From 2019 to 2021 she lead the communication department in Unit – The Norwegian Directorate for ICT and joint services in higher education and research. Unit merged into Sikt in 2022, where Berg-Tesdal now leads as Head of Communication.
