The management of campus networks is in flux. There is a strong demand for stable campus networks, while the playing field is becoming more complex. Although management platforms and tools become more intelligent, they come with a cost of licenses and/or data.
There is an opportunity for NRENs and their institutes to work together in managing their campus networks using open source tools and open standards to stay or become more sovereign. We have stories to share: successes but also failures. Opportunities, but also risks.
