On this beautiful autumn day, the Danish NREN DeiC conference opens in Kolding, Denmark, welcoming participants under the theme, “Collaborating to Build the Research Infrastructure for the Future.” Running from 29-30 October, the conference gathers Danish and international stakeholders for two days of insightful presentations, engaging debates, and valuable networking opportunities.
The conference will feature four primary tracks focusing on Data Management, Security, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and Network Services—the four pillars of DeiC. This year, special emphasis will be placed on emerging possibilities and technological developments in quantum computing and quantum communications.
NORDUnet will be joining the conference once again and is looking forward to engaging with the Danish Research & Education (R&E) networking community. NORDUnet will also contribute two talks to the conference program.
On Tuesday, Lars Fischer, Chief Relations Officer at NORDUnet, will deliver a plenary talk titled “Nordic Connections as the Platform for European Collaboration and Development.” The talk will highlight NORDUnet’s role as a vehicle for Nordic collaboration and an incubator for European innovation. Fischer will provide examples of how Nordic cooperation has empowered DeiC and other Nordic NRENs to guide key Nordic infrastructure and service development.
Also on Tuesday, Jørgen Qvist, Chief Operating Officer at NORDUnet, will present on “Changes in Important Services: Media Hosting, Zoom, LMS.” This talk will cover the Nordic NREN strategy for jointly providing media and learning services through shared procurement and NORDUnet-hosted platforms, including updates on the evolution of essential media services.
The DeiC conference 2024 will be held at Comwell Kolding. For the full program, click here.
