GÉANT Association elects new board members

Today, the GÉANT Association general assembly elected new members to its Board of Directors.

Cezary Mazurek (CEO of Polish NREN PSNC), Ronan Byrne (CEO of Irish NREN HEAnet), and Claudio Allocchio (Senior Techincal Officer of Italian NREN Consortium GARR) were elected members of the Board of Directors for a period of three years. Floor Jas (Head of Trust & Security at Dutch NREN SURF) was elected for a second term as member of the Board of Directors, also for a period of three years.

NORDUnet highly appreciate that by offering their candidacies Cezary, Ronan, Claudio, and Floor have made themselves available, and look forward to the new Board of Directors guiding GÉANT through the years ahead. These will be years offering both exciting opportunities and new geopolitical and societal challenges for Europe and European research.

Similarly, NORDUnet would like to thank the outgoing board members: Federico Ruggieri (GARR), Paul Feldman (independent), and Ana Tavares Pinto (FCCN) for their contributions to the community over the past years. GÉANT Association and the GÉANT project have grown in range and scope in the past years, adapting to a growing complexity of the requirements of the European research area.

Janos Mohacsi (KIFU), Gilles Massen (Restena Foundation), Heidi Fraser-Krauss (Jisc), George Konnis (CYNET), and Lars Fischer (NORDUnet) round out the GÉANT Association Board of Directors.
