GÉANT Confirms Board Leadership for New Term

Today, the GÉANT Association General Assembly re-elected the Chair of the Association’s Board of Directors as well as two board directors.

Gilles Massen of the Restena Foundation was re-elected as Chair of the GÉANT Board of Directors. During his first term, GÉANT has navigated a period of significant transition, including the departure of former CEO Erik Huizer and the recruitment of incoming CEO Lise Fuhr. Under Gilles’ leadership, GÉANT has also entered new territory by winning major infrastructure tenders such as the EuroHPC HyperConnectivity project. His continued leadership will help ensure a smooth transition to the new executive team and support the ongoing update of the Articles of Association.

Heidi Fraser-Krauss of Jisc and George Konnis of CYNET were also re-elected to the Board of Directors.

NORDUnet welcomes the continuity and stability these appointments bring to GÉANT governance at a time of organisational renewal and growing strategic challenges for European research and education infrastructure.
