Licia Florio Elected to the EOSC Association Board of Directors

Licia Florio, Senior Strategy and Policy Officer at NORDUnet, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Association, for a one-year term.

Licia has played a pivotal role in driving NORDUnet and the Nordic National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in their contributions to the development and deployment of the EOSC EU node, culminating in the successful launch of the node in October at the EOSC Symposium.

“I believe that collaboration is the key driver for innovation and sustainability”, says Licia, adding that “in the EOSC Association Board I will support the creation of an environment where cross-border collaboration becomes standard”.

With decades of experience as a leader in the evolution of European trust and identity federations and technical architectures, Licia and her work have had a profound impact on the research and education landscape. Her leadership in the AARC TREE project, the third phase of the AARC Blueprint series funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, demonstrates her ability to blend strategic vision with actionable results.

The election took place today during the 9th General Assembly of the EOSC Association. This recognition reflects Licia’s ability to drive complex projects, her technical expertise, and her long-standing dedication to fostering community engagement and collaboration.

Other members elected to the EOSC Association board of directors today were Sara Garavelli (CSC, Finland), Kamran Naim (CERN, International Office), and Roxanne Wyns (LIBIS – KU Leuven Libraries). NORDUnet congratulates all the elected board members and look forward to their leadership in the next phase of the EOSC Association and the evolution of the EOSC Federation.
