Ronan Byrne new CEO of HEAnet

Ronan Byrne has been announced CEO of Irish NREN HEAnet, replacing Kerrie Power who left for a role in the commercial sector earlier this year. Ronan is well-known in the NREN community for his leadership of the GÉANT Network Infrastructure Advisory Committee (NIAC) and membership in the newly formed board of directors of the EOSC Association. As chair of the NIAC, Ronan has played a crucial role as guardian of the community consensus for the topology and design of the next-generation GÉANT network currently being implemented by the GN4-3 project.

Ronan and all of HEAnet are longterm collaborators and partners of NORDUnet and the Nordic NRENs. We congratulate Ronan on the appointment and look forward to further collaboration in his new role.
