Two more impressive recognitions

NORDUnet is delighted to be recognized by the prestigious Next Generation Indie Book Awards, the world’s largest book awards program for independent publishers and self-published authors.

The Power of Nordic Unity – 40 years of NORDUnet, published to mark the 40th anniversary of the Nordic collaboration in Research & Education Networking, has received two gold Indie Book Award medals in the Best eBook Non-Fiction and Best Overall Design Non-Fiction categories.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards judges are indie book publishing industry leaders, including many with long careers at major publishing houses. Their love of a great read and experience in the publishing arena identify books deserving a wider audience.

“To have our publication recognized by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards judges as an item deserving a wider audience is truly amazing.” says Erik-Jan Bos, Policy & Strategy Officer, NORDUnet, and Editor-in-Chief of the eBook. “One of the intentions behind creating the publication was the wish to share outside the borders of our own R&E community what it is that we do, and what we can actually achieve if only we collaborate”.

An interactive multi-touch experience, NORDUnet’s eBook invites readers to explore a timeline and experience stunning Nordic visuals that tell the story of Nordic collaborations and tech innovations that truly prepared R&E networks to excel within the 2020 pandemic and beyond.

NORDUnet’s 40th-anniversary publication was a collective effort from a hundred+ contributors, highlighting the achievements of a world-class data network based on dark fibre and spectrum sharing. With them, we share this significant honour.

Open to the public, the 2021 Next Generation Indie Book Award presentations will stream live on Facebook on June 25 at 7:00 pm (EST). https://www.facebook.com/NextGenerationIndieBookAwards
