Zoom-ing in on Sweden’s digital R&E future

Zoom-ing in on Sweden’s digital R&E future

The autumn 2025 version of the traditional gathering Sunet-dagarna (the Sunet days) is held online. As always, the event allows participants to get updated on the many services provided by Sunet, the Swedish research and education network (NREN).

Not just is the event held via Zoom. The agenda even provides opportunities to get acquainted with new developments that allow further benefits from the e-meeting platform, which has become highly popular in the Nordic R&E community. For example, Jørgen Qvist, Chief Operating Officer at NORDUnet, will introduce Zoom Hybrid. Besides demonstrating the functionality of the extended solution, his presentation will address aspects such as data flows, safeguarding of critical data, and risk assessments. Further, practical differences in relation to the current OnPrem solutions are discussed, including how demands related to information security and compliance may be modified.

Doing justice to the entire packed full-week program is not possible but an appetizer could be the opening keynote by John Preuẞ Mattsson, expert in cryptographic algoritms and security protocols at Ericsson, on migration of critical infrastructure to quantum-resistant cryptography on a global scale. Other topics include OpenID Federation, Sunet Cloud PoC, multi-factor login to Swamid with use of M365, Sunet Drive, Canvas, CNaaS, eduroam, “Study Buddy” (an AI solution developed by Blekinge Tekniska Högskola), and introduction to the newly developed speech-to-text solution Sunet Tal-till-text.

The main target group is employees of the institutions connected to Sunet or people with a similar professional interest in the network.

Sunet-dagarne autumn 2025 takes place November 3-7 at https://sunet.zoom.us/my/sunet

Participation is free of charge, and no registration is required.
