Marking a NORDUnet Milestone

Marking a NORDUnet Milestone

Today we celebrate something rather special at NORDUnet: the 150th meeting of the NORDUnet Board of Directors. The first meeting took place on 14 December 1993, 32 years and a great many agenda items ago.

Of course, the NORDUnet story stretches even further back. The first NORDUnet conference in 1980 and the early network engineering efforts that followed laid the foundations for the Nordic collaboration we continue to build on today.

We marked the occasion with a small ceremony during a board-and-staff lunch at the NORDUnet offices, a brief moment to appreciate how far this partnership has come, and the people who have shaped it over the decades.

Here’s to many more years of Nordic cooperation, shared infrastructure, and the steady, sometimes understated progress that makes it all work.
