Thomas Frøyland joins NORDUnet as Chief Strategy Officer starting 1 September 2026.
Thomas will lead NORDUnet’s Strategic Engagement division and be responsible for community development, including relations to Nordic and international stakeholders and the translations of insights into strategic priorities, as well as development of the NORDUnet organisation.
Thomas has more than 20 years of policy experience from public, private and non-profit organisations, and has consulted extensively for governments, multinational corporations and think tanks on geopolitics and crisis management.
Thomas was most recently Global Head of Stakeholder Relations at Rambøll, leading the company’s department for public affairs, partnerships and thought leadership, with a particular focus on critical infrastructure, the green transition and shaping resilient societies. Before that, Thomas served in key policy roles at Ørsted, the United Nations and the University of Chicago.
