European e-Infrastructure Position on Open Science Cloud

The European e-Infrastrucutres EUDAT, LIBER, OpenAIRE, EGI, and GÉANT have released a joint position statement on the vision for a European Open Science Cloud.

The Open Science Cloud is seen as the driver for taking European research to the next level, by offering researchers seamless, secure, trustworthy, open access to advanced digital capabilities, resources and expertise  for collaboration and for carrying out data- and compute-intensive science. The position paper argues that for the potential to be realized, the Open Science Cloud must be open, publicly funded & governed, research-centric, comprehensive, diverse & distributed, interoperable, sevice-oriented, and finally social.
