Data Intensive Science

Data Intensive Science

Our Anniversary Celebration Programme on Friday 27 November includes a parallel session discussing

Data Intensive Science in the Nordics – Connecting through the Arctic Region,

so make sure to register to join the event.

Per Öster (CSC) and Olaf Schjelderup (Uninett) will take us on a dedicated tour of some of the big science projects happening in the Nordics and projects elsewhere that involve Nordic participation. These projects, of course, mean big data and therefore we need powerful networks. The new NORDUnet Next Generation Network, in the Nordics built on top of the Nordic NRENs, and network systems connecting the Nordics to the rest of the world will be highlighted. You will also hear about Arctic Connect R&E and its potential for Gravity North.

On top of having Per and Olaf setting the scene for the discussion, we are fortunate that Pekka Uusitalo (CSC), member of the NORDUnet Board of Directors, will moderate this session.

We look forward to having you join the entire event and this exciting session. Go have a look at the dedicated website 40.nordu.net to learn more about the entire programme. You can register via the site or directly from here
