APAN56

The 56th APAN conference – the meeting place of the Asia-Pacific NRENs and their global partners – takes place on 21-25 August 2023 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  The conference program features a range of talks from community members, stakeholders, and industry professionals on advanced national and intercontinental networks, NREN evolution, NREN services, security, digital indentity maagement, sharing of research data, internet governance, and more. In addition, the conference is home to a number of research application side meetings, as well as infrastructure governance meetings.

For NORDUnet, the APAN meeting is an important event for working with our global partners. We look forward to further discussions of Europe / Asia connectivity and NREN collaboration. The Asia-Europe Ring (AER) is an important element in our global network; at APAN56 we will meet with out AER partners to support the evolution of the collaboration. Likewise, the APAN meeting is an important venue for our engagement with emerging NRENs in the region.

Lars Fischer, Chief Relations Officer officer at NORDUnet, will co-chair an open session on inter-continental and global network evolution in the Network Engineering track on Wednesday afternoon.
