On April 9th, Erik Kikkenborg, Chief Collaboration Officer at NORDUnet, will participate in the NREN Academy, hosted by WACREN, with a focus on Shared Services for National Relevance and Regional Growth. The academy brings together NREN CEOs from across the WACREN region for strategic discussions on trust-based collaboration, national roadmaps, and the role of NRENs in digital transformation.
This initiative is a fine match to the role held by NORDUnet in the Nordic countries as a facilitator of NREN collaboration on services and infrastructure, and it resonates deeply with NORDUnet’s commitment to being a trusted international partner. We believe that strong collaboration across borders creates value for users stronger, more sustainable NRENs — capable of delivering essential digital infrastructure and services for research and education.
The academy is co-designed with WACREN, tailored specifically to NREN CEOs, and reflects the power of working together across continents. Through shared experiences and collaboration, we help build stronger, more sustainable NRENs across borders.
Likewise, the format of the academy fosters meaningful engagement: open dialogue, sharing of experiences, and mutual support around key challenges and opportunities. NORDUnet brings to the table decades of experience with strategic planning, community-building, and service development in an international context. We’re proud to contribute tools, insight, and encouragement as NRENs in the WACREN region build their own path forward.
