Being a human surrounded by intelligent machines. In their daily lives, many already face the scenario outlined by Jonas Ivarsson, Informatics Professor at Gothenburg University. He kicks off the Spring 2026 version of Sunetdagarne, the traditional gathering held by Sunet, the Swedish National Research and Education Network (NREN).

Sunetdagarna provides an opportunity to meet other professionals engaged in research and education networks and get acquainted with new developments in Sunet services. The main target group is employees of the institutions connected to Sunet or people with a similar professional interest in the network.
In his opening keynote presentation, Professor Ivarsson will not focus on technology but rather on the risk of human and institutional capabilities eroding as human interplay loses ground.
From the joint starting point, the event will carry several parallel tracks. Erik Kikkenborg, Chief Collaboration Officer at NORDUnet, will offer his views on security of supply for NRENs at the session on “Digital Preparedness in a Volatile World”.
Sunetdagarna Spring 2026 are held at Linköping University, Norrköping, 6-7 May 2026. Participation is free of charge, but registration is necessary. Online participation is not possible.
